“The age of Love is the level of existence that is the source of your existence.”
(Chapter 1, page 5 – What to Do When You’re Dead)

Robots don't feelTo explain this passage from the book, we need to reorient the way we think about what Love is and what an age is.

Love is a course of action when there is love in the way you do something. So if you are in love with someone for example, you do things that will make your beloved feel the love you have for him or her.

But if you were to speak that sentence to a robot, it would not comprehend feeling love, or even understand what feeling is.

Our bodies communicate through sensation, so from the time we are babies we learn what feelings are. And yet even though we may have felt love, Love is not a feeling.

Love is what the body feels as sensation, but it is not the feeling that is love.

When you “do” something to make someone think of you, and they think of you with love because of it, what are you actually doing? You cannot give love, right? Meaning you can’t take an object, call it love, and hand it to them and then they have love.

Love is not something that is separate from you. So you have to make a gesture to symbolize that love.  This love is then experienced through the symbol. Therefore love is not something one can give, in and of itself, it has to be remembered.

We are able to remind people of love, but not actually give them something they don’t already have. But how is it that you can remind them? You remind them because they are made from love. Love is a system of being. Love is a way of being, and love is a substance of being. It is what makes all things and all things are made from love.

“Love is a system of being”

Love is more than feeling. Feeling is just another way of saying what you are being. The body tells you what you are “being” through your feelings.

The body feels that which is the mind of being. The mind of being is what is being felt in the body. The body therefore is a product of this feeling.

The reason people have a hard time understanding this idea is because you are taught that the body is all there is. But what is true is that the mind is all there is.

“The mind is made from love.”

The body is made from the mind of this Love and placed into a state of molecular structure that causes a body to appear.
By whom you ask? By the being we call God.

God is the Love that has placed the being that is you, in the body you think is you.

There was a time in the history of the universe when there was only Love and no form. Love was the source of all that existed. Then when the source of all that existed split into parts and bits, the universe was formed from the construction of the mind of “knowing.”

Each mind of this knowing became form, over billions upon billions upon billions upon billions of everlasting beings. Meaning it folded into itself over a vast amount of cosmological time. Before this expanse occurred however, there was an age of Love. This was ‘the age of knowing all that ever was’ in a capsulated manner.

Take the entire universe and put it in a capsule and this is the age of Love. The time when Love was all there was. So Love is not a feeling, Love is the source of all being and when we remember Love we are remembering the source of our true nature and true being. This is why Love is a guidance principle, because true is a guidance principle. True Love will connect to the source of infinite being and is, therefore, unable to be anything but Love.

So when we make a gesture that symbolizes love to another person, we are remembering love and we are reminding love. Our body will express that being in a feeling, because feelings will express our states of being.
